Guitar chords v2: neofolk sing-a-long edition |
|
I was reminded by antonignaz in the 'Waiting For The Fall' thread, that there was a thread a long time ago, before the big purge, with a lot of folks sharing guitar chords and tabs for their favorite neofolk songs. Let's bring that back and do it again even better this time!

Yes! I was actually thinking the other day that I should take this a step further and start including some of these, after played and approved as correct or at least very close, on a tablature section of the website itself. With appropriate authorship to the poster here of course.
I also want to say that the 'purge' was nothing done by anyone behind the scenes. We're not really sure what happened. We simply woke up one day and a huge chunk of the old posts on the forum were completely gone. I'm thinking it was simply an error on the host server, but we're still not quite sure. The old owner of HH, Malahki, still hosts it.
Anyway, really glad to see you gents getting this moving again.

I have a theory about the deletion: in those days there were a lot of spams on the board, too many, more than real posts, and one of the moderators deleted accidentally not only the spammers, but the whole threads where they posted their spams. Maybe I'm not right, but it sounds realistic to me. But it was many years ago, doesn't matter anymore.

Are there any requests out of curiosity? I'm more skilled in melodic work than chords. Also play some piano. And antonignaz, perhaps you're right. We more or less gave up on the forum for a little bit because no one had time or energy for it. As you can see, we're trying to do better now though and bring it back a bit.
Hopefully some old names (like Patriote) will return as well. Good to see you back as well.

Death in June - The Enemy Within
This is simple and I figured it out from watching live footage, but the chords are irregular so I'll tab the chords used. Then present the structure.
Verse:
Chord 1 - Dm9
----5---
----6---
----5---
---------
---------
---------
Chord 2 - Asus2
----0----
----0----
----2----
----2-----
----0-----
----0-----
Chord 3 - G
Structure: Dm9, Asus2, Dm9, Asus2, Dm9, Asus2, G
Bridge:
Chord 1 - Am
Chord 2 - A maj7
----0---
----5---
----6---
----6----
----0----
----0----
Chord 3 - Em
Structure: Am, A maj7, Em, Em, Am, A maj7, Em, Em
There you have it!

Hi fellow Neofolkers! This evening I was searching for the exact same thread- unfortunatly a computer-crash washed away the document where I saved it. Great that theres an attempt to start a new one!!
I immediatley registered and for starters here are some songs:
Von Thronstahl – Brechen muss der schwarze Bann
Schlagmuster
(d =down, u = up)
Em____________Am_____C___G
ddu udu ddu udu ddu udu ddu ddu
Pausen beachten! Sauberer Wechsel!
scheine uns in finstrer Stund.
Zwinget uns ein dunkler Zauber
heimlich unters Hexagramm.

1x Refrain:
Em C Em C Em C Em C
Schenk uns heute deinen Segen, sieh wir kommen dir entgegen
2x Zwischenspiel (ist das selbe wie Intro):
Ganz in Weiß und ganz in Eisen
Ganz in Eisen und ganz in Weiß
2x Strophe A :
[ Tab from: http://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/v/von_thronstahl/ganz_in_weiss_und_ganz_in_eisen_crd.html ]
8x Strophe B :
1x Refrain:
Schenk uns heute deinen Segen, sieh wir kommen dir entgegen
2x Zwischenspiel:
Ganz in Weiß und ganz in Eisen
Ganz in Eisen und ganz in Weiß
10x Strophe A :
2x Strophe A :
Oooooohoooo...
4x Strophe B :

Von Thronstahl- Molti piu onore
Standard tuning. This song has a very strange rhythm that will probably take some time to fully understand. The chords are played in such a way that the lowest two strings are strummed first and then all of the remaining higher strings are strummed. For example, Em is played as:
e......0
B......0
G......0
D......2
A...2
E...0
Unless otherwise noted, this is how all chords in the song are played.
Em
Em
Em/Gmaj/Em/Gmaj (these are very quick; hammer your index finger from the second fret of the D string onto the third fret of the E string to produce the desired note. The above syncopated pattern does not apply here.)
Cmaj
Am
Em (let ring)
This basic pattern is repeated throughout the song, which contains only nine words repeated over and over again (Multi piu nemici/Multi piu onore/Boia chi molla).
Darkwood - Lied am Feuer
Am(0/1/2/2/0/0: -> von hoch nach tief);
Esus4(0/0/2/2/0/0);
C#maj7(0/1/0/2/3/0)
C#M(0/0/0/2/3/0)
A7sus4(3/3/2/0/0/x)
Dm(1/3/2/0/0/x)
Präludium:

Wo ist noch das Rauschen der Wälder
____C#maj7_____________C#maj7/C#M
Von fremden Klängen ganz rein?
____Am_____________________Am/Esus4
Wo hört man das Raunen der Quelle
____C#maj7____________Am/Esus4
Ist Leben mehr Sein als Schein?
Refrain:
A7sus4___Dm__________Am/Esus4
In..........diesem..........Land
In..........diesem..........Land
Strophe Zwei, siehe oben:
Wir wissen uns unter Sternen
Wir liegen hier einsam im Feld
Was kümmert uns Gestern und Morgen?
Wir haben weder Gut noch Geld
In diesem Land
In diesem Land
Strophe Drei, siehe oben:
In die Einsamkeit wir entrinnen
Entfliehen der Märkte Geschrei
Entfliehen der Geißel der Mauer
Denn hier - nur da sind wir frei
In diesem Land
In diesem Land
Esus4_____________________Am
Die Scheite sind nun entzündet
C#maj7_______C#M_Am/Esus4
Gefährten stehen im Kreis
Esus4_____________________Am
Es wehet der Atem des Feuers
C#maj7_______C#M___Am/Esus4
Und Herzen brennen so heiß
Strophe Fünf, wieder wie die vorigen:
Wir leben unter der Sonne
Wir liegen hier einsam im Feld
Wir ziehen mit loderndem Herzen
Durch eine flammende Welt
In diesem Land
In diesem Land
In diesem Land
In diesem Land

Em G Am Em
So tönet denn, schäumende Wellen,
G Am Em
Und windet euch rund um mich her!
C G A9
Mag Unglück doch laut um mich bellen,
Em C Em
Erbost sein das grausame Meer! (2x)
Ich lache den stürmenden Wettern,
Verachte den Zorngrimm der Flut;
O, mögen mich Felsen zerschmettern!
Denn nimmer wird es gut. (2x)
So wälzt euch bergab mit Gewittern,
Und raset, ihr Stürme, mich an,
Dass Felsen an Felsen zersplittern!
Ich bin ein verlorener Mann. (2x)

Jeder Morgen Abend werden
Ewiges ist nicht auf Erden
Als der Wandel, als die Flucht
Ewiges ist nicht auf Erden
Als der Wandel, als die Flucht
Auch der schönste Sommer will
Einmal Herbst und Welke spüren
Halte, Blatt, geduldig still
Wenn der Wind dich will entführen
Halte, Blatt, geduldig still
Wenn der Wind dich will entführen
Spiel dein Spiel und wehr dich nicht
Lass es still gescheh’n
Lass vom Winde, der dich bricht
Dich nach Hause weh’n
Dich nach Hause weh’n
Spiel dein Spiel und wehr dich nicht
Lass es still gescheh’n
Lass vom Winde, der dich bricht
Dich nach Hause weh’n
Dich nach Hause weh’n
Forseti – Letzter Traum
Em G
Der Gewitterbrandung Tosen
Am C
Rückt vom Sturm getrieben näher.
Em G
Schattenlos, im trüben Wetter
Am C
Steht ein Ahorn, ohne Blätter,
G C Em
Wie ein altersgrauer Seher, (2x)
Längst erblindet. Seines Samens
Sprösslingsscharen überragend,
Scheint er von sich selbst zu träumen
Zwischen jungen, starken Bäumen,
Vieler Winter Bürde tragend.
In des Regenwassers Bächen
Welke, lose Blätter schwimmen.
Seine Krone wogt im Winde.
Schimmelgrün, auf morscher Rinde
Siegel reifen Lebens glimmen.
Tief ein Riss im Holz sich weitet,
Harz entströmt des Markes Grunde,
Fließt herab am hohen Stamme
Und der nahen Blitze Flamme
Leuchtet golden in der Wunde.
Unentwegt, der kahlen Krone
Zacken durch den Himmel schweifen,
Ihrem Traum gehorchend wanken.
Äste ächzend aufwärts ranken,
Zweige nach den Blitzen greifen,
Flehen, dass des Alters Wunde
Eines Blitzes Feuer heile,
Dass ihr Traum dem Sturme folge,
Losgelöst, als Aschewolke,
Frei, dem Strom der Zeit enteile.

In Gowan ring- Mornigs waking dream
Shimmers splendent merge, laden tendrils waver (DM, Bb)
Descending drops of water disperse in lucid layer (DM, Bb)
A smile spread over rainbow sky (G)
Refracted in the raindrops crying eye (F barré, Ax2)
They fall away to where the sun hangs brightly (Bb, DM)
Trickling down where on the dews are shown (Bb, A)
In the play of moments moving lightly (Bb, DM)
On the grounds of morning's blooming down (Bb, Ax2)
Every hour of every day, every leaf on every tree (DM, Bb)
Each expression borne of every thought (DM, Bb)
A sudden joy swarmed to a heart (G)
with open arms reaching out (F barré, Ax2)
Through time to set a place for the unthought (A)
On that day the welcome is inviting (Bb, DM)
With chime, ceremony and good cheer (Bb, A)
In the play of moments moving lightly (Bb, DM)
To the sounds of morning breaking clear (Bb, Ax2)
Here the naked child among the others 'neath the sun (DM, Bb)
Some thrust forward like snakes (DM)
Some stood upwise and erect (Bb)
Some stiffened, taut, virginal and prim (G)
Some bent dead in curves graceful and thin (F barré, Ax2)
They grow away to where the sun hangs brightly (Bb, DM)
Trickling down where on the dews are seen (Bb, A)
In the play of moments moving lightly (Bb, DM)
On the bounds of Morning's Waking Dream (Bb, Ax2)

In the Days for to come

Em C G
But from the Forest and the fields
G
here she comes here she comes.
etc.
And in the days of to come,
The sound of iron and the sound of drums.
And in the days of to come,
The earth shall seethe and the clouds will bleed.
And in the days of to come,
Will we be drowned in a sea of scum?
And in the days of to come,
Will man spew out a bastard son?
But from the forest and the field,
Here she comes, here she comes.
And beneath the turning of the sun's wheel,
Here she comes, here she comes.
And from a womb of growing corn,
We are reborn, we are reborn.
Her moon that lights us til the dawn,
Here she comes, here she comes.
And in the days that will be,
The doors of hope will have no key.
And in the days that will be,
No books or gods, only greed.
And in the days it will show,
That the rule of gold will drag us low.
And in great halls where treason breeds,
Even noble hearts become diseased.
And from the forest and from the field,
Here she comes, here she comes.
And beneath the turning of the sun's wheel,
Here she comes, here she comes.
And from a womb of growing corn,
We are reborn, we are reborn.
Her moon that leads us to the dawn,
Here she comes, here she comes.
Here she comes, here she comes.
Here she comes, here she comes.

Forseti - Der graue König
Em, Csus9, C
Aus den Tälern in die Weiten
G, Am, Amsus9
Schroffgeformter Bergeshöhn,
Blassverhangen von Gezeiten
Wachsen Nebelschleier kühn.
Dicht gewoben aus Essenzen
Abendschwerer Sommerdüfte
Fängt mit seinen lichten Kränzen
Sanfter Nebel Regenlüfte.
Tanzt der junge Regen lachend,
Folgt den leichten Mädchenschritten
Jener graue König wachend
Mit kaum hörbar leisen Tritten.
Zieht den Mantel fahlen Lichts,
In dem Blätter sich verfingen,
Stolzen Hauptes hinter sich,
Um verzerrt sein Lied zu singen:
“Bin geformt auf eine Weise,
Die vergeht wie Windeshauch,
Die erstirbt wie Regen leise,
Und verblüht wie Rosen auch.”
Doch so wie die Winde wehen,
Blaue Regen Tänze reichen,
Rosen nach dem Lichte gehen
Wird der Nebel nimmer weichen.
Wird erklimmen Bergeswand,
Ruhen in dem Moos, dem alten,
Um zu legen übers Land
Rastlos seines Mantels Falten.

Was den Weg nach unten schreitet
Verkümmert gar in kargem Schein
Und aus Wassern frei von Eisen
Erfaßt uns ahnend leben-sein
Sinnentlehrt, bleich, ohne Antlitz
Halb kriechend nun im letzten Rund
Doch bald schon aufrecht, jung und kühn
Durch Geist beseelt aus Sonnengrund
Als Kinder ew'ger Schöpferkraft
Folgt nach dem Schwan in hohem Stand
Und zum Throne fester Reinheit
Steigt gleißend hoch der Väter Land
