I was hoping to go the rest of my life without seeing a reference to this terrible album. Razz I share Hitler's view on it...

I had the misfortune of witnessing them play their new material live a few weeks ago.

I now know not to buy it. Luckily the bulk of the rest of the set was old classics from the "ABC" albums.....

Trey has deleted all trace of his former tattooed self and is babyskinned once again.

The new album has a duet with Andy LaPlegua(Icon of Coil, Combichrist), and as a longtime industrial fan, I've always found trendy Nitzer Ebb-ripoff groups like Combichrist to be insulting.
A shame, as I met Andy a couple years back at a DJ event, and he seemed like a decent bloke..... just don't care for his music Sad

Another new track has the same riff as "I Love Rock n Roll" by Joan Jett......

I stopped listening to new Morbid Angel after the sub-standard Domination album, and now I see I haven't been missing much.....

They used to be THE death metal band to see back in the day, and there was a time Trey and Pete were revered as two of the most talented musicians in all of metal....... how the mighty have fallen!!!!

This album is, yes, quite awful, to say the least. Sometimes, trying "something new" is just a bad idea, ha ha... But I must say I had a lot of fun with at least one track - the horrendous Destructos - when I got commissioned to remix it by Seasons Of Mist. I turned it into a fully orchestral peplum thing, which should be released on the forthcoming remix album. Destructos ! Destructos ! Ha ha.

You're kidding. It wasn't bad enough but now they're remixing...

Congratulations on the commission and all, I'm glad you're making money on the deal. It just hurts me to see bands like this falter this far whom meant quite a bit to me in my youth.

Cryptopsy is another one...probably worse. It continues with Amorphis whom was the hardest for me to handle. Its odd with them though. I LOVED their sound when they started going towards that psych rock groovey sound on Tuonela and Am Universum (one of the most underrated albums of all time in my opinion). After that though, they completely lost me.

Actually, the few other mixes I heard from this forthcoming "thing" are pretty interesting, HIV+ and Chrysalide especially... But in the end I'm quite agreeing with you.

I don't know much of Amorphis but I LOVED their Hawkwind cover, Levitation (on the My Kantele EP)... I should try some more.
